Before seeing this video I had never seen Carter Beauford playing guitar (or any other non-percussion instrument). Here we see the master working on Why I Am with “Big Whiskey” producer Rob Cavallo. A few years back, Dave Matthews, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer band covered Neil Young’s Heart of Gold at the concert for Katrina at Madison Square Garden. Great video and awesome song. This is must see for those who may have missed it.
Dave Matthews was a surprise guest at Woodland Park Seattle Zoo for the annual ZooTunes concert. Dave played a short solo set, and performed a duet of the song Angel from Montgomery with singer Brandi Carlile. The guitar segments are played quite differently when compared to previous renditions of this John Pine cover played by Dave and company. This is a beautiful tune. Enjoy the video…
