Dave Matthews Band to Open NFL Season


Dave Matthews Band will open the NFL season by performing at the Superdome in New Orleans on September 9, 2010. This event is part the hour-long pre-game event which leads up to the NFL season opener between the reigning Superbowl Champion Saints and the Minnesota Vikings. The DMB performance is part of “NFL Opening Kickoff 2010 Presented by EA Sports” which will be televised live at 7:30 pm ET from New Orleans’ Jackson Square. Rumor: DMB To Play 2010 Winter Tour

Over the past few weeks, additional tour dates have been added to the 2010 Dave Matthews Band schedule: Chicago (Wrigley Field, September 17 – 18), Brazil (São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro) and Chile (Santiago). As the final Summer/Fall tour dates were etched in, credible rumors of 2010 Winter tour dates began circulating. Word on the street is that the Band is planning a Fall tour in November with concerts at home in Charlottesville, VA (John Paul Jones Arena), Madison Square Garden, Times Union Center in Albany (former Pepsi Center), Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia (former Wachovia Center), and the TD Bank Garden in Boston.

Dave Matthews Band 2010 Summer Tour Opener

The Dave Matthews Band Summer concert tour began last Friday (May 28, 2010) in Hartford, Connecticut. Incredible YouTube videos from the shows have surfaced and are included in this post. Highlights from the weekend include the JTR tour opener, the crowd singing most of Dancing Nancies (and only screwing up one verse) during N1, the Big Eyed Fish > Bartender opener on N2, the return of the long-shelved Hello Again, (last played in September of 2005) plus the debut of new song: Break For It.

No Dave Matthews Band Tour Dates in 2011 (Hiatus)


What was a rumored break is no longer a rumor. Dave Matthews Band will not tour in 2011. (Update) Though the band is not playing a nation-wide tour in 2011, Dave Matthews Band will instead be headlining four “Dave Matthews Band Caravan” festivals during the summer of 2011.
