At the time when many DMB fans questioned why Steve Lillywhite was fired, the band responded with a simple explanation: Recording with Steve had turned dull. After yesterday’s Skype session, Lillywhite proved to be more than dull. The former Dave Matthews Band album producer had trouble remembering Boyd’s name and hinted (via twitter) that he would leak a previously unreleased DMB song titled MacHead. Though nobody was ever blamed for the album leak known as “The Lillywhite Sessions” or, what was really titled “The Summer So Far,” Lillywhite proved that he has no qualms about leaking unfinished songs. Lillywhite’s firing now seems understandable.
